Public Information

The Panama City Fire Department offers a number of Fire and Life Safety Educational Programs in our city.  The goal of these programs is to decrease the number of fire and injury related incidents in a proactive way through Education, Engineering, and Enforcement.

At the bottom of this page is a tab titled "Associated Information."  This tab contains informational fact sheets on some of our current programs.  Please refer to the Subject Title or, for additional information, call us at 850-872-3053.
PROGRAM & EVENT SCHEDULING
Educational Fire Safety Station Tours are available on an individual as well as group basis.  Due to the logistics required to accommodate group tours, these events must be scheduled in advance.  A good rule of thumb is to contact the Panama City Fire Department at least two (2) weeks in advance of the requested tour date.  For additional information on Fire Safety Station Tours, click on the "Associated Information" Link below and then the attachment titled “All About Fire Safety Station Tours.”

Fire Apparatus (Truck) Displays / Demonstrations are also a very popular event for schools and other Public Education Events.  If your school or organization is interested in scheduling the Panama City Fire Department to participate in your event, please contact the Department at least two (2) weeks in advance of the requested event date.

At the Panama City Fire Department, we will make every effort to work with you to schedule the requested dates and times for your tour or event.  Additionally, all of the Panama City Fire Department's programs are offered free to the community.  However, they are generally limited to the City Limits of Panama City.

For additional information and/or scheduling of events, please contact the Division of Training, Fire Prevention & Public Education via:

One of the favorites parts of Station Tours during Fire Prevention Activites is when visitors spray water from the Fire Hose.  Engineer Rusty Pitts demonstrates proper technique to a student.  Check out the Rainbow!

Students also learn what to expect when Firefighters come to their home for a fire.  In the photo above, Engineer David Jernigan teaches a group of students about a Firefighter's Personal Protective  Equipment (PPE) and how it helps the Firefighter be able to fight fires and perform Rescues!
